"I was 49 years old when I walked into Bally's 2 years ago. I wanted to get into shape before I turned 50. I watched an aerobic class and then when I was walking out I saw Shaundra, a trainer at Ballys. I talked to her and asked about her program and we set up an appointment for the following Thursday. During that next week I did a couple of aerobic classes at the gym and had decided that I needed to wait for training. When I met with Shaudra she explained that if I made the commitment to get in shape, she would make sure I reached my goals. To say the least it was brutal at first, but after a few weeks I actually looked forward to coming to the gym. Now almost 2 years later I am still working with Shaundra and could not have done this on my own. Shaundra has a suxth sense about what I need and can tell immediately if my eating is off, which makes me really accountable. I reached my goal for my 50th birthday and I am still setting new goals.
I have had a thyroid problem for 30 years and it has been a problem these past few months, but Shaundra keeps me encouraged and focused on my workouts, my eating and always my attitude. Shaundra has not only been my trainer these past 2 years she has been a great friend."

"I can still remember the first day I trained with you and how I thought to myself “I will never be able to do this day in and day out?.” “What have I gotten myself into?.” and most importantly“ This lady is insane?.” Throughout the process, you encouraged me to think positive and you pushed me far more than I could have pushed myself alone in order to get my fullest potential. With you by my side, I was able to do just that and I was able to exceed all expectations that I had set for myself and then some. As I trained with you two times a week, I was able to see the pounds fall off and I was able to see how the strength training was helping me to gain muscle!! –WOW. I still can’t believe the results that I have gotten. My weight goal was to lose 130 pounds within a year and with your help and guidance, I was able to lose120 pounds within just 8 months with just 10 more pounds to go!! You have taught me how to work out, how to eat, and how to set goals for myself not only in order to achieve them but also to surpass them.

"My name is Donna and I started weight training with Shaundra almost two years ago. I am 49 years old. I have lupus and needed to lose about 20 pounds and get in shape. I did not like to work out. My thinking was that I had too many other 'more important priorities' in my life; therefore, I did not have the time to work out. But what I did not realize, at the time, was that I needed to make time for myself. I also needed to make a life change and make it quick.
"Shaundra gave me a sample diet and other tips to help me get started eating correctly. Next she took me through workouts that were and have not ever been the same twice!! I say this with an exclamation because this made the workouts fun and never boring. This constant change is so good for your overall strength. Most trainers I have used in the past took me through the same workout day after day and I got bored and always quit. You never get bored with Shaundra and one of the reasons I am still training with her.
"Today I am the happiest I have ever been. My husband is also very happy!! I am fit and twenty pounds lighter. My lupus is under control and I feel so much better. "My weight ballooned to 335 lbs early last year and I was desperate! I did manage to change my eating habits, stop uncontrolled eating of fattening foods, especially ice cream, and loose some weight, but I was still a fat, sedentary, 71 year old couch potato when I came to Bally’s in September of 2007 and first met Shaundra. I can only imagine what she must have thought when she first saw me, but she readily accepted the challenge of training me. I was never much of an athlete, disliking exercise because it was uncomfortable, even though I knew that I should exercise. I just lacked the self-discipline to do it. Shaundra has therefore had the daunting task of helping me to change my mind-set as well as teaching and motivating me to exercise, strengthen my body, improve my eating habits, and lose the excess fat. She has done a great job of training me and also become a good friend. My weight is now 232 lbs, so I have lost a little over 100 lbs and my strength and stamina are much improved. I could never have done that without her pushing and motivating me. I still have a way to go to reach my goal of weighing less than 200 lbs, but believe I can do it with Shaundra’s aid.
